Air suspension on a used luxury car, what should I check before buying?
I'm looking at a used luxury car and most of the ones in my budget seem to have air suspension, which is making me nervous because I keep hearing about compressors and leaking bags. Part of me thinks the comfort would be worth it for the daily commute, but another part pictures a huge bill landing out of nowhere. I read a fairly balanced write up on what to know before choosing air suspension and it was more useful than most of the forum posts I'd been scrolling through, but I'd still rather hear from real owners. When you bought yours, did you specifically check the suspension history or did you just take it on trust? And is there anything you can look at on a test drive that hints at trouble coming? I'd rather go in prepared than find out the hard way.
