Body shop says my chassis damage is repairable, should I trust that?

My car was involved in a fairly heavy knock and the body shop has told me the chassis damage is repairable rather than a write off. Part of me is relieved, part of me is wondering whether they're just saying that to get the work. I came across alzaabiautocare.com/can-chassis-damage-be-repaired while trying to understand what's actually involved, but I'd rather hear from people who've been through it. Has anyone had chassis damage repaired and been happy with the result long term? And what should I be asking the shop to prove the repair was done properly, like measurement reports or alignment figures? I'd rather understand what a proper repair looks like than just take their word for it.
